My chain saw is 2116 AV model bought in 1994- Serial 11-010401 and model # 600035-20. Recently, although the saw is in perfect operating order the chain oiling device stopped functioning: can you tell me how to get it to work properly?
This is a little complicated so I’m going in small steps. http://www.m-and-d.com/parts.html Click “Illustrated Parts Diagrams ON LINE” Click “Click Here for Parts Lookup” Changes to “Select OEM” Window reads “Briggs & Stratton ▼” Click the arrow and select “McCulloch Power” Click “Gasoline-Powered Chain Saws” Click “11-600035-20” Click “Powerhead Assembly” Item 1 is the oil pump $9.48 You can construct a veryry detailed parts breakdown for your saw with a little effort. I recommend you do it. If you were looking for a sprocket earlier it is on the same detail page as the oiler $12.05. There is a shipping and handling charge from M & D (about $9) if all parts in same container only one fee. I’ve found McCulloch parts here I can get no where else and they are reasonable.
Given this detail and a little effort on your part she can oil again. Even this thread is closed you can still add to this thread below the advertisements. I'll try to remember to check for additional questions. Good Luck with your project Lou

- Oil System Plugged.
Remove the clutch cover, bar, and chain, clean the bar groove, any holes and passages on the rear of the bar (both sides, consider rotating the bar) Clean the saw’s oiler hole and channel. Start the saw and see if it oils when revved up. If yes reassemble your saw. If no, continue with 2.
Insert a blunted, hooked piece of wire through the oil filler hole and pull the hose in the oil tank out (clean or replace, difficult to determine serviceability). Work your way through the linkage cleaning and replacing any defective parts as you go. Carefully check the hoses for cracks especially at bends and connections. If equipped with an oil pump it is usually behind the clutch (clutch is probably left handed thread). Please make extensive notes & some digital pictures will help during reassembly. GL
hello sir, what i would do is remove the bar and chain.in the side of the bar are a couple of holes that feed oil from the saw into the bar grooves.make sure these are clean of any debris.you can use solvent and a small drill bit to clean out holes.than look at the saw where there is usually a wear plate and make sure the groove there is also free of debris.lastly i would start the saw without the bar and chain and look for oil coming from the groove area described above.if nothing coming out than you have a problem with saw motor and would have to go deeper into it,you can also try rinsing out tank with solvent and running engine to see if fluid comes out.hope this helps,MrFixIt, oh could you please rate this solution, thank you***

Once my Stihl MS310 saw warms up, it stops running when I release the throttle trigger. Sometimes I can "catch" it by gunning the throttle, but usually I fail to catch the stall fast enough and it quits. The dealer hasn't been able to correct this.
