Question about Toshiba Satellite A105-s4184 Notebook

Wireless doesn't turn on

Hei guys, I'm really quite the novice when it comes to computers. Here's my query. I have a Toshiba Satellite a10. It has a wireless internet connection feature, except whether the switch is on or off, it never turns off. Nothing pops up to say that it has been activated or that there area any wi-fi services in range.

I’m currently using a wireless device that’s plugged into the USB slot until I find a solution.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Have Toshiba A10. Installed a proper wireless card. Set sees wireless but never wants to connect. Think it is driver problem but have the right driver so not sure what the issue is.

In network card setting there should be a choice to let windows configure the wireless connection or do you have a protected wireless network?

  • The original Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 HDD is fitted into a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 Hard Disk Drive cradle - Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 HDD caddy.

      • Gently remove the cradle from the laptop, yes pull on it

Does my laptop have wireless internet??

Basically they don't. They can be purchased and easily installed by opening the cover that contains it and inserting it just like inserting memory and then connecting the white and grey wires to the wireless card.

Want to replace cmos battery in Toshiba Satellite A10

On Toshiba laptops you hit the ESC key as soon as you turn it on & then you
are given the option to hit the F1 key to enter bios.

As to the cmos battery, they couldn't have hidden it better if it was the Queen's diamond!

It is near the bottom of the laptop on the right side, almost directly beneath the pause/break key.
Problem is, you have to disassemble the entire laptop to get at it!

Disassembly instructions for the Satellite A10 are here

          Best of luck

Hmm, that was really my only suggestion. The pin in the jack is way in the back and not possible to see without taking the lappy apart. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Good luck:)

Toshiba a10 satellite laptop screen problem

Hi, unfortunately this is an indication of dead pixels in the LCD screen. the only fix is to replace the screen and this may be more expensive than a new computer.
You could try EBAY "Want it now" section listing your exact model and serial number computer to see if some one has a screen available.
