Hp 5150 only prints e-mail. When I try to print from Word, a sheet of paper goes into the printer, stops and then I get an message that the printer is out of paper. I have powered down many, many times, printer and laptop (Dell Inspiron 2200). Sometimes, when I've gotten past the "out of paper" message it say "paper jam". Help!

I had installed a new black print cartridge just before these problems happened. On this HP, when a new cartridge is installed, the printer must go through an alignment procedure and produce a printout in the process. For some reason I did not let the printer do this and that scrambled it's little electronic brains. The troubleshooting section of the printer's documentation recommends not only turning off the printer but unplugging it from its power source as well. Once that was done, the printer went through its alignment function, printed out the obligatory sheet and we were back to normal operations.

Lesson learned - when powering down, always unplug the printer as well as turning it off.

False "paper jam" signal prevents printing: My HP 2210 had been working fine. Suddenly, when I try to print, the paper starts to feed for a few inches and then stops. I get a "clear paper jam" error...

it's probably due to what i would call the print head blocker ( on your left handside of your printer head) that is broken . check it out! it also responsable to control how far goes the sheet before start printing.

HP Deskjet 5150 print is too small

Printers try to fit web pages on a single sheet of paper. If you configure the printer, in the print dialog, not to shrink images and text to fit the paper, it will print on multiple sheets of paper, but the correct size for the images and text.

In a Word document, it depends on what font size you have selected. Most people would rather have the web page print on a single sheet, with smaller images and text than were on the monitor; than tape together multiple sheets for 100% size printout.

Printer erroneously reports a paper jam

Perform a hard reset of printer and see if that clears up the situation. Also uninstall and reinstall drivers.

I am trying to print using Avery 8663 clear mailing labels using my HP Photosmart 3310 all in one. The printer keeps shooting out the paper with the message "please remove the paper and re-insert it with...

Does it still print on plain paper? Check to see if you are missing one or more labels as they may have come off and onto a roller or other part. I've found that label sheets with any labels removed prior to printing are always prone to loosing labels in the process of traveling through the printer.

Paper jam light is on

Hi! I have the same issue. The only solution I still use: select print from document with no paper in the hp's feeder. Let the printer go on "paper out" message, now put the paper into the feeder and press the print button on the printer. Success!

HP PSP 2355

the only thing that can be done is to go to your printers and faxes folder and looking for your HP printer icon, right click on it and select uninstal, switch off and remove printer from the usb port Next go to add/remove programmes and look for any HP printer software listing and uninstall it and restart the pc. If you have the installation cd that came with the printer reinstall the driver and when prompted reconnect the printer to a usb port preferebly a different one than before if you have spare and continue. reset the HP printer to the default printer if not already been prompted to do so by the software and try again printing, if the result is the same the printer itself is faulty and requires servicing or replacing
