Turning the handle counter clockwise unlocked the developer unit. I eventually discovered that I had to squeeze two plastic tabs together that were above the collection bottle before I could slide the unit out. It took a long time to empty the unit carefully. Fortunately I have little computer cleaning brushes attached to a long flexible plastic tube I can connect to a regular vacuum which were very useful in cleaning the machine and the unit. I put the new developer in making sure it was spread the whole length of the unit (after removing the plastic cover over the unit. Pushing the handle back in so I could close the cover was a bit tricky. Folding the handle to the left (after trying several times) allowed me to close the front cover so it was flush on the right as well as the left. Before I figured out how to get the cover fully closed, I could run to copier, but got blanks on the copies until I finally had the handle properly seated (folding to the left) so the cover would close completely on the right as well as the left. This is a very messy job, and having covers on the floor as well as a trash can with trash liners is necessary. I went through 3 trash bags not because I filled them up, but to cut down on the mess getting out of control and to minimize the filings/toner from getting into the air.

Oppen front cover, look for black handle to the far right hand side, turn that clockwise and it will un lock the dev unit so you can slide it out towards you, empty out old dev completely and replace with new, then you can slide drum unit out the same way there is only 1 thumb screw holding that unit in. give the inside of copier a vacuum out and a wipe with a clean lint free rag,

COPIES FROM PANASONIC FP7722 ARE JUST BLOTCHY GRAY

yep!
we can say it is common error/malfunction for these series of fp-77xx
it is also called as quarc error
you may fix it by manually adding some toner at the developing unit
or by pressing USER PRESET + 11 + 1 to perform manual add toner maybe up to 5x until you see some improvement.
:)

Panasonic FP-7750 Black Copier

Sounds like fuser issue ( The Fuser Heats the Toner and Fuses the toner to the paper) It could also need a developer change depening on the amout of copies you have on the machine. Unless you can rebuild the fuser or replace the developer, you will have to call a service tech. If your in Maryland you can contact Innovative Copy Products if not go to panasonic.com to find a local dealer
