Delstar DS 31024 will not connect

Delstar DS 31024. My computer doesn't acknowledge that the mp3 player is connected. Mp3 screen shows zzz's between the computer and player. I have tried direct plug in and usb cord. I also have replaced battery. I am using xp. It doesn't have a driver set up on My Computer panel.

Firmware upgrades

Installing/upgrading firmware is usally not requemented. You will not be adding any new feature to u're unit. There's no reason to do reinstall or upgrade the firmware other than to repair the unit in the event the units firmware is corrept.

Did you run the installation cd ?
Exit some other programs if you have a few running
then connect it and check My Computer for "DS31034" or something along those lines.
