Folder Options Double-clicking any folder on my Dell laptop bring up Search first on drop-down list with Open anywhere from 2nd to 4th. Didn't used to be that way. Don't have this problem with my XP-loaded Dell PC. Can't find any help in Control Panel/ Folder Options. Have XP installation CD and Dell Utility +Application CDs.

I want to create new folders from my documents in my computer how do I do it

get the desk top screen up
right click anywhere on a vacant patch that brings up a drop down box where you will see new folder
click on that and that folder appears on the desktop screen
rename it to suit what you want to call that folder
then when yo need a document saved -save to desktop and then move that file into the named folder
if you have documents already in say my documents click and hold and drag that file to the appropriate folder on desktop
if you have just the one monitor , get into the library area and open up my documents the drag each document to the folder in the library drop down area
Basic I know but with a bit of practice you will get to moving documents to folders very quickly

How do I delete Linkedin from laptop

Well depending on windows version go to programs and features in win 8 win XP -7 add and remove programs. It should show on the list of installed programs. Just select and click uninstall..... If it is not on the list then you are going to have to search for it on you hard drive (usually c:drive) Once you find it see if it contains an uninstall program. If it does not do not attempt deleting it since could cause pc errors. I suggest the using a program such as REVO UNINSTALLER.
Even though the program list in Revo may not show it you can use the hunt feature. Locate the program folder Open Revo put it in hunt mode and drag and drop the program to Revo. Follow instructions and you should be golden. to double check that it has been removed shut down pc/laptop wait 10sec then reboot and check for the program you wanted gone. I hope this helps with a few options should one not work. Note you may find an emty folder left behind with the name of the program you can just simply delete it. Open first to make sure it's empty.

Cannot create folder

Use Windows Explorer to open the folder in which you wish to create the new folder.
The "My Documents" folder is a good choice if you are new to Windows.
2
Look at the left side of the Explorer Window for an area marked "File and Folder Tasks."
Click on the link that says "Make a new folder."

3
Click on "File" on the menu bar to begin creating a new folder in a different way.
Select the "New" menu item and click on the "Folder" submenu item.

4
Move the mouse cursor to a blank area of the folder area and right click to bring up the context menu to begin creating a new folder in a third way.
Select "New" and click on the "Folder" submenu item.

5
Utilize a fourth method to create a folder directly on the desktop.
Right click on a blank area of the desktop.
Select "New" and click on the "Folder" submenu item.

6
Type a name for the new folder in the highlighted area after using any of the methods described in Steps 2 through 4.
Press the "Enter" key or click in a blank area of the folder window to complete the process.
also you might just open your drive right click inside select new folder and name it.

Restore Folder Options in Windows XP
Windows XP has several viewing options that you can modify for folders in Windows Explorer. These include being able to customize whether you activate items by clicking them once or twice, whether Windows displays hidden and protected files and several other options.
If you have played with these options in an attempt to determine how you prefer to use your computer, you may accidentally reach the point where you have changed so many items that you are unsure of how to revert to the original configuration.
For this reason, Windows XP allows you to restore the folder options to their defaults by clicking a button.
Open Windows Explorer.
Two of the fastest ways to do this are by clicking the "Start" button and then clicking "My Computer" and by double clicking the "My Computer" icon on the desktop.
Click the "Tools" drop-down menu and select "Folder Options."

Click the "General" tab, and then click the "Restore Defaults" button if you would like to restore the default settings for the "Common Tasks" bar on the left side of folders, whether new folders open in the same window or a new window and whether items open with a single click or double click.
Click the "View" tab, and then click the "Restore Defaults" button if you would like to restore any advanced view settings to their defaults, such as whether Windows displays hidden and protected files.
Click the "Reset All Folders" button if you would like to restore the default viewing option to all folders, such as the detailed view or list view.
Click "OK" to save your changes.

AOL Software

Hi there,

The file which is missing is located in
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AOL\C_America Online 9.0\idb\SNMaster.id

Browse to C:\Program Files\AOL 9.1\ and double click on aol.exe. It should start just fine.

To copy the AOL data files and move them to the right location:
1. Click the Start button, then open My Computer.

Note: If using Windows Vista, click the Start button, then click Computer.

2. Access the AOL folder.

If using Windows 2000 or Windows XP, double-click the Local Disk (C:), then navigate to Windows\All Users\Application Data\AOL folder.
If using Windows Vista, double-click the Local Disk (C:), then navigate to the Windows\ProgramData|AOL folder. Windows Vista users can alternatively search for C_AOL90 to find it.

3. Right-click the C_AOL90 folder, then click Copy.
Note: If there are multiple copies of the C_AOL90 folder, copy the folder with the later letter next to it. e.g.: If you have C_AOL90a and C_AOL90b, then C_AOL90b is folder that would need to be copied.

4. Paste the folder into the correct location.
If using Windows 2000 or Windows XP, navigate to the C:\Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\AOL folder. Right-click the AOL folder, then click Paste.
If using Windows Vista, navigate to the C:\ProgramData\AOL folder. Right-click the AOL folder, then click Paste.
Notes:

If you do not find the Application Data folder, it may be hidden. To see all hidden folders on Windows XP or 2000, click the Tools menu, click Folder Options, then click the View tab. Under Hidden files and folders, choose the Show hidden files and folders option by clicking it, then click the OK button.
If you do not find the ProgramData folder, it may be hidden. To see all hidden folders, click the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options, then click the View tab. Under Hidden files and folders, choose the Show hidden files and folders option by clicking it, then click the OK button.

5. Launch the AOL® software again.

Warm regards,

Do not know to find a hidden window

If you have Windows XP, open up any folder, go up to TOOLS, then Click on Folder Options, After that click on the VIEW tab. You should now see where it says Advanced settings, go down and click on " Show Hidden Files And Folders"

For Vista Open up any folder, click on ORGANIZE at the top and scroll down to Folders and Search Options. Once in the Folder options click on the View Tab, you should then see where you can click on " Show Hidden Files and Folders"

I would suggest once you get that folder back, go back into the folder options and click on the Do Not Show Hidden files, because when you show the hidden files you are also showing important system folders.
