ISOLATE MAINS POWER BEFORE OPENING ANY PANEL
Several possibilites come to mind.
first Has this AEG two fans if yes , it has a top and back fan, the element on the back fan sounds like its either a bad connection or blown needs further investigation, the intermittent grill possibly a thermistat, of poor contact on a connection again. Rear and top panel access, you may have to remove the top fan.
Hope this has been helpful

If youhave aELECTROLUX electric Cooker or Fan Ovenwhich is not heating it could be one of the following problems. 1, If thefan motorin theback of the oven is going round and the temperature light is on (normallylittle red light), but there is no heat then you will probably need a new ovenelement, these are generally very easy to fit and readily available from our websitethese can be tested with a electric meter. To gain access to theELECTROLUX elementyou willhave to remove the back plate from inside the oven. Once removed you will seethe fan andelement, if you look closely at theelementyou willprobably see a small hole burnt in it where it has blown. Sometimes howeverthere is no evidence of a fault but the elementis opencircuit i.e. broken inside the element casing, either way it will needreplacing. Some elements will are fixed from inside the oven and some are heldin place by nuts from the rear of the machine.
2, If yourELECTROLUXfan oven is getting warm but takes a very long time to cook or is burning thefood more on one side than the other, then you need to check if your ovenfan motorisworking you will see the blade turning fast if it is ok. if the element isheating but thefan motoris notblowing the heat into the oven then you need To replace the ovenfan motoris alittle more expensive and a bit more involved. 3. If you have the opposite problem i.e. your ovenis over heating and burning everything then you will need to replace yourELECTROLUXoventhermostat
4, A quite common and easily overlooked answer isif yourELECTROLUX oven is not working at all i.e. noheat and no fan then the chances are that someone has put the oventimerinto AUTOmode, simply put oven back to MANUAL mode and all should be working again.
If you are certain that the element is o/k, and it is not heating, then thwere are 2 possibilitues.
1- the oven thermostat could be faulty, whereby it is giving a feed to the element.
2-some ovens have a fan only setting, as well as heat and fan, make sure that it is not on a fan only setting.
Hope this helps.
If the fan and light are working it points to a faulty heating element.
However the only sure way is to test both with a multimeter.
With the power off, check the element for resistance (ohms) if there is no reading the element is open circuit i.e failed and will need to be replaced.
I you are getting any reading on the element, it should be ok.
Then check the thermostat circuit out with the 'stat 'on,' again if no reading the 'stat is faulty.
If the fan is working o/k, then you need to replace the oven element.
This is located at the rear of the oven compartment, behind a removeable cover.
This should solve the prob.
Please leave feed back.
Thankyou.
If it is an all electric fan assisted oven, and the fan is working o/k, then the oven element has probably failed.
This is located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.
Hope this helps.
it is located at the back of most electric ovens sometimes at the top,,
the insulation of the element has failed and when you come to remove it you will see visually see the damage... its easy to replace as there are only wires attached to it and only a few screws to undue to get to it..
We have the same problem with our oven, AEG B2190-1.It started on on Christmas day[worst day of year]gets up to temperature after 10-15 minutes cuts out everything switches off until the oven has cooled down, The oven is only 18 months old. We have been told that it is a thermostat problem.
