tried mulitple other audio devices, - same earphone problem

ipod earhones work fine in all audio devices

one set worked for a little over a year

the newer set worked about 9 months

I have two sets of cheaper earphones that work fine on all of the audio devices.
There is not anything in between.

Wait! I'm a moron - I confused my old broken set with my new set, and thought my new set was bad too.

So now I'm down to this: my new set works fine with everything - my older set still has nothing coming out the left side. No wax in there that I can see or get out.
If they are bad, your advice would be very helpful to figure out which company I can use to fix them and a rough estimate as to the cost.

Try a regular cheap set of headphones on that device .If its the same ,then the audio device is the problem.Or try those sets of headphones on another audio device , computer,tv,cd or stereo receiver. If you are using any kind od adaptor inbetween those headphones and the audio device ,then check that..If they sound the same on any known good device..Then its possible they are bad ..let me know

its also possible the the headphone cable is bad or the actual transducer on that side is bad ...

if you know how to use a basic ohm meter .You can measure the resistance from both speakers. If you were to open the speaker enclosures from both ,you could measure the speaker directly.Use the good one as a reference .If the resistance or OHMS is the same for both diectly. Then the wire for bad side has risen in resistance thus bad.

Did you tried interchanging them to the other side? If the problem changes side, try any other earphones to check that the problem is still there. If it goes, the the earphone could have a problem...try to look through the hole where the sound comes from and see if it is clogged by wax or any other thing.

SHURE E3g EARPHONE PROBLEM

IF YOU HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WHAT I HAD WITH MY 3 YEAR OLD SURE E3g EARPHONE THAT ONE SIDE IS NOT LAUD ENOUGH......
I DID TRY ALL THE CLEANING WITH THE PROVIDED TOOL BUT ALL DID NOT HELP.
I DID USE A KNIFE AND DID SLOWELY FOLLOW THE GROVE ARROUND THE TIP OF MY BAD EARPHONE. AFTER A FEW MIN. WORKING WITH MY KNIFE IN THIS GROVE I DID FEEL THAT THE EARPHONE WILL COME APART. THE TIP HAS NO CONNECTIONS (ELECTRICAL SPEAKER WIRE CONNECTIONS) NOTHING IT IS JUST THE EARPHONE PLASTIC TIP. AFTER I HAD THE TIP IN MY HAND I USED A NEEDLE AND I GOT A LOT OLD EAR WAX OUT AND MY EARPHONE IS VERY LOAD AGAIN. NOW CLEAN BOTH SIDES AND PRESS THE TIP BACK ON. IF YOU FEEL BETTER USE A DROP SUPER GLUE TO BE SURE IT WILL NOT COME APART AGAIN AND STUCK IN YOUR EAR. I DID NOT USE ANY GLUE.
I HOPE THIS DID HELP YOU TO CONTINUE TO LISTEN YOUR MUSIC WITH YOUR SURE E3g EARPHONE

ONE side is muffled

This is caused by microscopic wax build up in one ear. You'll probably have to send the earphones to Shure for replacement.

Lh earphone of my Shure se210 volume is very low. Have cleaned the earpiece multiple time using the supplied tool. It sounds louder in the rear of the earpiece than inside of the ear. Any suggestions?

The dirt is clogged in the front end if the sound is clear at the rear. So it will be needed to clean the earpiece once again taking care to see that there is no dirt/ear wax clogging the sound vent.
If possible use fine bristles to brush out or clear the openings till the clarity improves since you mentioned the earpiece is working well when heard at the rear, if not the LH can be weak.

Only have sound on right side

I don't know if you used new earphones but if you did I would try to clean the inside of the mp3 player then reconnect youre earphone. If you still have the problem return to the store, then the hardware in the mp3 itself is wrong.
