Problem for Toshiba 36A40 36" TV
I have a 36 inch toshiba tv model # 36A50 and i
i have a 36 inch toshiba tv model # 36A50 and i have black bar at the top and one at the bottom i only have approximently 3 or 4 inches of screen in the middle to watch. what would it be? that problem started a few months ago and since then has gooten that worse i know if i watch the tv now it will totally go out. I wanted to know if you know someone who could come out and give me a free estimate on how much it would be to repair this tv in home and tell me what you think it might be.

For one thing you have a vertical problem and since it got that way gradually you can bet that there is a bad capacitor in the vert. circuit(pump-up cap) as far as the price goes it depends on your local servicemen, i`m in canada and that sort of problem fixed at home would run around a 100.00$. good luck
