HP Pavilion zv5000 - No power with battery in.

I have an HP Pavilion ZV5000 and the computer does not turn on when the battery is in (I've also bought a replacement battery - same thing happens). But when the battery is out, the computer turns on as long as it's plugged in.

However, the power jack is very sensitive and must be held in a certain position in order for the computer to stay on.

It seems that a bunch of stuff is wrong, what do you think? Thank you!

I have the zx5000 and the battery will not charge, only works if its pluged in, but it wont always turn on??? why i dont know i have to repeat pushing the power button until it decides to turn on, then when it does turn on it will randomly shut off before finnishing booting up. i hate computers.

I attempted to upgrade the RAM on my HP Pavilion zv5000. (the one under the keyboard) when I tried to turn it on, there is just a blank screen. Any idea what the problem is? The laptop was installed...

According to the link below you can do the upgrade. If is not working, make sure you have the memory seated correctly, then mix and match the memory and switch slots to find the problem memory. It may be incompatible with either the motherboard or the other memory sticks, or just a bad stick.

Hp pavilion ZV5000 was working fing, now it does not start, no lights, with A/C adaptor or battery, wonder if this is a common issue that others have seen.

Yes it is. You either have a bad AC adaptor or a bad internal power supply. My guess, the power supply.
About a $300 fix when sent back to HP. I fixed mine once. Next time its a new computer.

No battery

check if the battery is charged fully ...?? if not try to start the laptop on Power ...and charge for atleast 1 hour...then see the backup of battery by removing power cord..

How do you restore factory settings on a hp pavilion zv5000

I have the same problem - Best Buy does not give back-up discs,..but will allow you to purchase them (not cheap). I was used to them coming with my computers.
