Re: overheating laptop

Well Try cleaning the air vents and use the system on a flat surface like a table as the air flow might not be flowing inside the system. And also there could be an issue with the heatsink on the system. As for the Cd Burner try using the system restore and see if that works

Is it free of dust , vents? The fan always comes on at boot. The RPM's will change when the sensors detect a certain temp to prevent overheating and damage to your machine. Is it getting sufficent air flow from the fan intake on the bottom through the machine to the exit vents?

Pcg-3c2l system fan extremely noisy

Your fan is about to go out. It will have to be replaced. Once the fan goes out your laptop will run hot and shut down without notice. To replace the fan calls for disassembling your laptop. Get a quote from your local computer shop, then try the guys at:
They will repair it and ship it back by Fedex or UPS and beat most quotes including the shipping charge.

HP nc 6220 overheating? problem.

It sounds like you do have an overheating problem. When the laptop is running, peek inside the vent on the side or bottom of the laptop and determine if the fan is running. If it is running slow or completely stoped, that is your issue and it should be replaced by a local repair shop.

If the fan seems to be running fine, you may be able to deal with the problem and extend the life of the laptop a little by buying a laptop "cooling pad" which will have cooling fans of its own.

My Sony Vaio laptop turns off constantly. It

When it is running I need to know if the air coming out of the vent slats is hot or just warm. It sounds like the laptop is overheating and shutting down so it doesn;t burn itself up. Get a can of compressed air they sell at office supplt companies and use short bursts of air in the vent slots and fan housing. If there is an access panel on the bottom that allows access to the processor and heatsink, blow that area out too. Then check the Sony support site and see if they have a BIOS update for that model computer. Some manufacturers are writing new BIOS instructions for their laptops for the fans to run longer and faster to take care of heat issues.

Hp 6720s lap top running - vista does not load

If the laptop runs extremely hot, then CPU will shut down (thermal overload) and will not boot up again until it has cooled down.
Overheating problems is caused by faulty fan (stop spinning) or the fan and heatsink assembly is clogged with dust. Check the fan, it should spin freely and remove and vacuum the dust from the fan and heatsink.
Replace the fan if it is faulty.

My computer is overheating and how do u clean the fan

need to blow all the dust out of the vents on the side and bottom of laptop and check out the fan while the laptop is running. If the fan seems to be running slow, the bearings may be damaged and you may need to get another fan.

Think it is over heating

Ours kept stopping as it overheated - soluion was to get a chap platform to elevate the laptop which allowed it to 'breathe' a bit better and hasn't stopped since. We orginally had it directly on the desk so the air wasn't circulating

W34oua gateway system restore download

You need to solve the overheating problem first. Shut down the computer, unplug it and remove the bottom cover. Clean the dust and lint. Blow compressed air from a compressed air can. Re-install the cover and restart your computer. If you own a laptop, the fan should be running ALL THE TIME, sometimes slow, sometimes fast buta always running. Check the the fan is blowing air. If it is not, you'll need to replace it before doing anything else.

Sometimes laptops can get very hot in operation there are after market laptop Coolers that the laptop fits into/onto and has extra Fans to Cool the unit. Perhaps that would help... As long as the unit isn't getting so hot that it is faulting then it is most probably OK.. But my laptop gives me a "Warm Knee" when I use it for long periods.. Using the laptop on a hard surface helps too the air has to be able to flow to be cooled affectively.
