I just bought this 2nd hand dell inspiron 1150 laptop, unfortunately it has viruses . so i thought of reformatting it with new drivers. i cat seem to download the drivers from dell

First you need to go to

Or go to and then click on support. Then click on the "I'm looking for drivers" button on the down arrow/gear bit. Then it changes and now click on the select model , it changes again. now click on laptops in the window, then when it changes click on inspiron laptops and when that changes scroll down and look for 1150 (about 3rd one down), click on that and you are at the support page. Now all you have to do is select your operating system so it only shows the drivers you need and then start clicking and downloading. You should actually grab everything. When you go to install the first thing to run is the INF or system info setup. These let windows figure out what actually is plugged into it. So instead of a unknown card it will show the proper model. Next you may want to run video so you can see and then network so you can download stuff you missed and do updates. When you are done it is worth coming back and running the driver wizard to see if it finds any newer drivers not listed. It is worth saving these drivers onto a cd and putting it away. That way you can always get it running if you have to wipe out windows to clean out a virus again.

I have a Dell Inspiron B130 computer and a Dell Photo AIO printer 966. Recently I could not get my computer to print on the printer. It had worked up to this point. I uninstalled the printer driver and...

First check the "Device Manager", for any USB Driver "errors".
There are 3 USB ports for your Laptop, check all the ports.
If you are using XP on your laptop, is your service packs up to date? For USB 2.0 port to function properly you got have to update a least Service Pack 2 for Win XP.

1. Have you check your USB port? Just plug in any USB devices eg. Flash drive, external HDD... and see whether the port detect the USB devices.

2. Is the USB cable for the Printer faulty? Try a new USB cable.

Hope it helps.

I have istalled window XP and i had window vista...but after installation of new one my laptop inspiron 1525 sound system is not working..m trying to install sound driver but thats not properly...

You are download grading your Operating System to XP from Vista. Drivers for Vista and XP are diferent.

You can download the Audio drivers for XP from Dell Support Site for your laptop.
Check your "Device Manager" and uninstall the previous drivers and reinstall the XP Audio drivers downloaded from Dell Site.

Hope it helps.

Another "No Audio output device is installed"

Actually the problem that you have is the power management. Go into Control panel then the power settings. Make sure to turn off system standby. The reason that it is not installed after it comes from sleep is that it is not reenabling. THe computer turns off the component during sleep.

Need XP audio drivers for dell inspiron 1525

Hi trinadhmusun,

Click here to go to the Dell website to download your driver:

Dell Inspiron 1525

Make sure the operating system is correct (I have it set to Windows Vista 32bit as default, which your unit should be) and download the only driver for audio located on that list. It says it is a STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio, which you'll know if that is correct once you download and attempt to install it.

If you have problems installing the driver itself, let us know. Hope that helps!

No sound since installing xp

Unfortunately your best bet on your Inspriron 531s is to go back to Vista. According to Dell, this system was specifically setup to run Vista and, therefore, no XP drivers are guaranteed to work on this model. Most of the time for onboard devices, if they are not listed on the site, they are usually native to the operating system and do not require a driver download. Dell does, however, have some XP drivers for this model listed on their support site here

The only audio driver listed is for a Creative Labs X-Fi sound card and I am not sure that is what you have. Your best bet is to uninstall your sound card drivers, reboot, then install these. Good Luck
