My company just replaced my cpu and keyboard. SK8115 is more than impossible for a fast typing word processor. Also no clicks. Keys too flat. USB port so can't add an older keyboard I have. How do I hook up my old keyboard to a USB? Or how do I buy a better, faster, larger keyboard which is ONLY used for typing -- no games, etc.?

You could end up getting disciplined for tampering with company property! Is that really worth the risk over a £10 keyboard?
If he refuses then just tell him / her that your new keyboard makes your wrists ache after 20 minutes use and it's slowing your work output down. Health & Safety is a good angle to get a new keyboard, perhaps suggest a more comfortable device that you know is more suitable.

Certain keys on my laptop keyboard are sticking

Sticky keys are impossible to fix. The best solution is to replace the keyboard or use an external USB keyboard.
Keyboard replacement, LCD screens for mobile phones, Ipodsand computer equipment maybe available from this WEB site.http://www.yallstore.com/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&zenid=1lrjst3ncshlb4c7frn9bev3c3&keyword=keyboards

I have the basic Dell sk8115 keyboard but how do I use the F1-12 keys? Is there a manual I can find? Windows 7 64 bit vostro.

The keys are mostly configured by the software you are running.
In many computers, at startup white letters on the screen will tell you which keys to press for entering setup, changing boot order, etc.
The F1 key is universally used for help. The others, as I said, are used within software. Some software programs will allow you to actually program those keys.
On a laptop, there are little symbols that tell you what function the key performs when used in conjunction with the Fn key on the keyboard.

The computer & keyboard are only a few months old; the keyboard is clean, but the keys stick so bad, then sometimes you have to wait about 10 seconds & it will let you type again ?? Is this the...

when you say the keys stick, if you mean they rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrepeat then its your keyboard if you mean there is a long delay when you are typing then all of a sudden the words just catch up then something is occupying your processor time (its not internet connection as content is usually only submitted to the net when you press enter)
press crtl Alt and delete (assuming ur using windows)
click processes
click on the colum header (CPU) if anything is using CPU fore than 50 other than system idol then especialy when your computer pauses then that is you problem.

We have a desktop computer((Model: GATEWAY 838GM) misplace the ADAPTER for the CPU which one to get please thanks

sallyduby we may have some confusion here.

CPU = Central Processing Unit. Another term used is Microprocessor, or simply Processor for short.

CPU does not refer to a Personal Computer. At least not since the 1960's, and not unless you wish to confuse someone with the wrong reference. ;)

This is Gateway Support > Gateway 838GM Desktop PC > Main Support page,

http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/5389/5389nv.shtml

In the list click on Components.

A) There is no adapter device for the CD drive, or DVD drive, unless this is a mistaken reference to the flat ribbon data cable

B) There is no adapter device for the Harddrive, unless this is a mistaken reference to the SATA data cable that connects the SATA harddrive to the motherboard.

C) There IS possibly an adapter for the Keyboard, if you are using a Keyboard with a USB connector on the end of the cable, and are not using the original Keyboard that has a PS/2 connector.

Example;

http://www.directron.com/freeusbps2.html

D) There is no adapter for the Media Card Reader, unless this is a mistaken reference to the data cable that connects the Media Card Reader to the motherboard.

E) There are no adapters for the Ram Memory module/s.

F) There are no adapters for the Modem. The Modem plugs straight into the motherboard.

G) There are no adapters for the Motherboard, unless a USB mouse, or again a USB keyboard, is being used.
The same style of adapter for the USB Keyboard will also work for a USB mouse.

H) There is no adapter for the Power Supply, unless this is a reference to a power cable adapter that could go to a computer case fan, from a 4-pin standard Peripheral power cable.

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#peripheral

(The 4-pin standard Peripheral power cable, and it's connector, are shown in the middle photo.
The Harddrive example/s shown is an IDE {PATA} harddrive. This style of Harddrive uses a 4-pin standard Peripheral power cable)

I) There is no adapter for the Intel Pentium 4 CPU {Processor} (3.0GHz, 800MHz FSB)

The motherboard has an LGA 775 processor socket.
The Processor has the socket holes, while the processor socket has the pins.
775 socket holes, 775 pins.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_775

Unless this is a mistaken reference to the Fan/Heatsink combo that sits on top of the CPU.

Typical Fan/Heatsink combo example of Processors (CPU's) using an LGA 775 processor socket,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2943299&CatId=493

(Except the Gateway version is square)

J) No adapter for the Speakers unless I am mistaken.

Post back in a Comment, and give at least a general description of the adapter you are referencing to.

joecoolvette
