Foul water smell from the washer, occassionally clothes still very damp.

- Damp/wet enough that significant water can be hand wrung from the clothes and they have to be re-spun at least one more time. This occurs infrequently but the foul water smell occurs weekly.
Run a wash cycle without clothes and run with hot water, detergent and a cup of baking soda. Get in the habit of leaving the lid open after each washing session which lets the interior dry out. Make sure the drain water leaves forcefully as this is a timed event--check the drain hose for bends or kinks.

I have a front loader Kenmore Washer and cannot find the Screen Filter. It looks new in front but it does not have the easy screen removal that looks like a gasoling car opening. I removed the excess water by lowering rubber after releasing a wire seal. So where is the screen filter, below inside the rubber or above where the water came from? And is it removeable?
