We have just purchased a Kodak Printer ESP5 from ebay and we keep getting the message 'printer head missing or has come loose' on the screen. We have refitted many times but the same message keeps coming up. The supplier is taking responsibilty and if we return will give us full refund plus postage. Can you help before we have to send back as if working O.K. would like to keep it.

Change it, it's a manufacturing fault involving the lever that fixes the cartridges , even if you fix it now it may come back at any time.

  1. Open the printer access door.
  2. Remove the color and black ink cartridges.
  3. Remove, then reinstall the printhead and the ink cartridges. View a detailed Interactive Product Demo for ESP-series printers, or see illustrated instructions in Installing a New Printhead for all printers.
NOTE: Wait 30 seconds after removing the ink cartridges. Remove the printhead. Reinstall the printhead. Wait 30 seconds. Reinstall the ink cartridges.

If the error is resolved, we recommend upgrading your firmware by going to www.kodak.com/go/downloads.

If the error continues, replace the printhead,
