Trying to download a program I previously had on my HP running vista, but now when I attempt to download it I recieve this error message- >setupNewsetup.cpp (135) PAPP:PVENDOR:PGUID:$@windows vista service pack 1 (6001) IE 8.0.6001.188.28

Hello the problem could be with internet explorer 8. Try uninstalling it and installing internet explorer 7. It may not be compatible with the software you have.

Right click on the program and go to Properties -> Compatibility. Run it in compatibility mode with Windows Vista or XP. Then try.
