Question about Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS Receiver

1 Answer

Deleting MP3's I connected the Garmin Nuvi 660 to my harddrive and transferred MP3's to it. Everything was fine. I wanted to add more songs to it, and found that I had already filled it with MP3's. When I went back onto the drive from my computer, I deleted all of the files. However, the 660 still has them in memory and will not delete them. How can I get these songs off of the 660 all together, so I can put more on when the computer is showing there is nothing on the device?? I also tried searching the device for hidden files, and it didn't find any of these either. Can these songs be deleted or are they stuck on the device for good?

Re: Deleting MP3's

Yes you can but you have to disconnect your device from the computer.

Turn on GPS for few seconds and turn off . Back to your computer connect the usb m, go to GARMIN FILES , MP3S and delete the songs. You should be able , i just did it.

How do I load itunes songs to Garmin Nuvi 755T?

Songs in iTunes are in the AAC format. The Garmin only recognizes MP3s. You would have to convert the files before you could transfer them.

Loading mp3 files to garmin nuvi 350

The device is not recognizing the file name. The Garmin GPS will only recognize MP3 files. Ipod (MP4) and other media files will not play. Converting the files to the MP3 format will correct the problem.

How do you get SD cards to play ???

Are the songs in MP3 format? Typically you connect the GPS to the PC using the USB interface and using Windows Explorer, drag & drop the MP3 files into the GPS's MP3 subdirectory.

Then on the main screen, select travel tools and then the MP3 player. Select browse and choose a song.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!

When you connect your Garmin to your PC (using the USB lead)you should see the Garmin as a removable drive. Just use the file manager (Windows Explorer) to transfer the mp3 files from your pc to your Garmin MP3 directory.

Nuvi 660 not working

1-Check if you have 500 waypoints, Thats the maximum.

Be sure you delete the recents search via the menu. the recent use when you did a search for a place or adress, just delete.

2- could you confirm both of you if you did not add any other maps into the units ?

3- How many MP3 you have into the GARMIN files ?

Need this to answer your question properly ?

It should not happen if you did not overload the unit 660.

Everything has a maximum who is published by the manufacturer.
