How do you charge the Vivitar DVR 550

The box the dvr came in contradicts itself. On one side of the box it says "charger included", and where it says "What's in the box" does NOT mention a charger. So, I ask, how do I charge the ion battery? Will using the adapter do it? I have tried to contact Vivitar, and after 20 minutes on hold, the speaking with someone I did not understand, he connected me to another extension, where I hung up after 25 minutes. Anyone know how to charge the ion battery? Much appreciated!!!
