Whats the main problem? I see your problem is the scanned picture? Actual you will configure it to go to the my picture folder because every scanner has its default were the scanned images go. Try to go to the preference/configuration of the scanner then you can choose from there.

Need to retrieve scanned files! I can see them in the scanners 'job history', but I can only click on details, can't scan/print. Is there a way to acces the file? Scanner is "ricoh pro 906ex" thanks

Normally scanned files end up in "My Pictures".

If not then when you are next scanning a picture keep a careful look out for any folder paths for example:

c:/folder/users/isabella/mypictures

As this may give you a hint where the files are ending up.

Scanning with [Start] on the Machine
By pressing [SCAN] [Start] on the operation panel of the machine, you can scan
documents to your computer.
Pressing [SCAN] [Start] has the same effect as clicking [Save] in the MF Toolbox.
You can change the settings for [Save], or set up a button other than [Save] to
perform the same operation. (See “Setting the Scanning Function for [Start],” on p.
3-3.)
NOTE
You can use the machine for only a local scanner (connected directly to your computer).
1 Place the document face-down on the platen glass or load it
face-up in the ADF
2 Press [SCAN] [Start] on the machine.
If you are asked to select a program to launch, select “MF Toolbox Ver4.7.”
Scanning starts.
The MF Toolbox and the [Save] dialog box will open, but the document will be
scanned without pressing [Start] in the [Save] dialog box.
The scanned document will be processed according to your settings.
When you use [Start] for the first time, a folder with the scanning date will be created in
the [My Pictures] folder in the [My Documents] folder, and your document will be

will be created in the [My Documents] folder and your document will be saved in this

Where do I find a picture I just scanned and want to attach to an email

Hi Teresa, A bit more information is required to help provide a solution such as what software or scanner are you using. What operating system you are using and any additional details you think would be helpful.

The common places to look is check in your My Documents or My Pictures folders for the scanned images or any special folders that are created by your scanning software.

You could also perform a file search in a folder for files that have been edited or created on the date you scanned to locate the source folder.

Otherwise, open your scanning software and check the Preferences (probably Edit > Preferences) for the default location where items are saved when they are scanned.

If all else fails, scan it again and do a 'Save As' operation to place it on the desktop of another folder that you are familiar with so you may find it in the future.

Regards,
Adam

I don't know how to scan and save in forlder, to be able to send them through e-mail. The printer was given to me without the manuel

The printer was given without a manual because Hp has all of a sudden decided to go green.

anyway if you look on your desktop you will see and icon called the hp solution centre.

Bear in mind that you will only see this software once you have installed the software with the disc that came to you.
Place a document on the scanner glass of your printer face down.
Open the solution centre and you'll have a button called scan picture or scan document click on whichever you want and then select the type of file you want the picture or document scanned as.
once done click on the ok button and the scanning will start.
If you need to scan another picture click on finish and the folder will popup where the scanned file is saved.
If you need to scan another picture or document into the same file at the top you have an option on the scanning window saying add another page click on that, once all the pics or documents are done click on finish and the folder to where the scanned files are saved will open up.
by default the scanning path for WINDOWS XP is in my documents under the folder called my scans.
in WINDOWS VISTA AND WINDOWS 7THE SCANNING PATH IS DOCUMENTS AND THEN A FOLDER CALLED MY SCANS

tell ya what copy and paste the links below and follow the steps and would appreciate four stars if you think I am helpful :)

I don't know where my scanned files go?

If you scan it as a document, it will create a folder labeled with the date it was scanned in your "My Documents" folder. If it's scanned as a picture, the folder will appear in "My Pictures." That's IF it's working. Mine sometimes looks like it's scanning but nothing saves at all.

4.In the Choose Scanning Preferences page, click the Picture type option that best matches the paper you are scanning, and then click Next

5.In the Picture Name and Destination page, type a name for your image, select JPG as the file format, and select the folder where you would like the scanned image to be saved. Click Next.

No preview shown after picture is scanned

If you use Brother's own software, you could: * Open it up (by the clock, called "ControlCenter" or "ControlCenter 3") * Right-click on the type of scan intended (i.e. scan to file) and choose configuration * Here are the settings controlling the scanning. If you change to "device button" on top, you'll get the settings controlling the scanning when you use the scan-button on the machine. * Change the settings to i.e. "show target folder" after scanning, depending on your requested settings.

Scanning

In order to scan, the computer HAS to be ON. The purpose of scanning is making a DIGITAL copy of what ever you have on hardcopy. Which means, you should have saved it on the computer. And if the SCANNER is off, you can still access the scanned picture or item. However, the computer CANNOT be off, as that is where the picture should have been stored.

Any other questions?

PS to find the picture you have saved, go into the search for files and folders for a PC, and type in the name you saved it under. If you don't remember the name, look under the folder where the scanned copy is. I would look under your printer icon and its folder. Good luck!
