Try right-clicking on the Adobe Icon and seleting Properties. Then, go to the Compatibility tab, and select "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose Windows XP and see if that helps.

- Ok, I have done some poking around and it looks as though this is a very common problem, and the fix I mentioned was the only possible work-around. You can try compatibility mode for earlier versions of Windows, but if it still does not work for you, I would recommend biting the bullet and upgrading to 8 or 9.
