i am trying to format c: and erase everything on that drive i dont have a boot disk however just the windows xp pro disk and i cant remember how to get into command prompt
You can boot from your windows xp disk. Just put it in the cd rom and while booting up press del or the key your boot screen tells you to enter bios setup. then select your first boot device as cd rom.
When installing windows xp you will have the option to delete your c drive and create a new partition in its place.
You can't format the drive while Windows is running. Insert the CD, reboot, and follow the prompts to delete and re-add the main partition, then do a Quick format.

I'm having trouble getting my Verizon MyFi card to configure on my Dell PC w/ XP or my Dell laptop with Vista. The files load--but it doesn't find it when you look for a connection. I've spent 1-1/2 hours with Verizon's tech support and the ppl at Verizon took my laptop to work with it today for several hours but couldn't find a solution. It must be a setting in my computer. They lowered the firewall on the compuer to load the drivers but that didn't work. They checked the administrator settings. They checked to see that the MyFi was being "seen" by the computer and even were able to install it on another computer so the card is good.
