Hi, I have a Dell 30" TV that doesn't come on the first time I push the power button. Sometimes it takes up to 7 or 8 times until the screen comes on. The sound comes on right away, but not the screen. I was told to reset it, but that didn't work. Any quick fixes? Thanks!!!

This idea may be worth a try. Look at the buttons on your remote. If you see a button that is marked "TV" give that button a push and then give the "Power" button a push. Wait for a while! sometimes this takes a while to turn the TV on or off. You may have to do this a couple of times depending if the power was off or on when you started doing this. If you started with the set off, sometimes it takes a while for the set to turn on.
I have a Dell Studio laptop and sometimes some buttons become not responsive, including the power button. As for power button, I noticed that if you hold it for a few seconds, the laptop will turn on (at least in my case). The fix that works for me is as follows:
1. Turn the laptop off; 2. Disconnect the charger and take out the battery; 3. Wait for a few seconds; 4. Open the laptop lid (as you probably closed it while taking out the battery), push the power button and hold it for a few seconds. Nothing will happen as the laptop won't have any power, but it clears some sort of electrostatic load or whatever it's called; 5. Put the battery back in and turn on the laptop.
I used this for a few times, so perhaps it'll help in your case as well.
hi,hard to push bottons on TV manual controls usually happens because they are not use for a long time carbon accumulates inside the switches. You can just use a contact cleaner spray (windex) just spay it directly to the button and press repeatedly until dry..good luck1
This tv still under warrenty?Yes take ur warrenty repair. This problems very common on Sharp LCD tvs.I have one too. This tv have a Tuner signal board problems. But this tv still use able.Just push power button again after the POWER and OPC flashes.POWER and OPC some will flashes again and wait just push the power button again and wait.Sometimes have to push power buttons and wait power button push out of three or four times power button push POWER and OPC flashes.Than tv will work again.
You only have to unplug it for 30 seconds. Also, make sure it does not have a DVD in it when you turn it off as the TV will try to default to the DVD all the time. Resetting the power (I use a surge protector) allows it to turn back on normally. Based on the comments I've seen this TV has terrible sound with DVD, doesn't want to turn on, and is hard to mount on a wall.
Hi. the mother board seems to be having some initialization issues during boot up. this is common when the mother board is failing. i would check to make sure the battery on this board is working. if it is, the board my be ruined. power board seems to be fine. please rate and god bless.
some times it takes weeks or months. i've had twoo of theses tvs. leave it unplugged for a while. try a few days. when turnig it back on do not use the remote. hold the power button down for an extra two or three seconds. sometimes this will turn the tv on and off again, but sometimes this is the best way to get it to turn on if you have been having that problem. the best thing you can do is try extending your warranty from dell or having them ship you out a new one. once these things break there is really no fixing them and they only last a maximum of a couple years.
