Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

1 Answer

Will not hold a signal

My razor v3 will show that i have 3 or more bars when closed. flip it open and i lose all signal. wait a few seconds, signal comes back, make a call and it will either never ring, or it will connect and drop the call after only seconds. never been dropped, never touched water. i tried turning it off for a while but that hasn't done anything. my speed dials were deleted somehow. sometimes it will turn off, and then turn right back on when i flip the phone open. any ideas? oh and now i can't recieve texts. can send sometimes, but not always. never had any problems before. not one.

When you flip phone open inside screen stays white

Moto RAZR phones are notorious for this. Best thing to do - Get a new phone. Inside of the hinge, there is a sensor that detects if the phone is open or shut. When you open the phone, it still thinks its closed, so the screen stays white, and if im correct the outside display should still work. Pretty much not-fixable unless you know someone who can take it apart and re-position the sensor (will void the warranty)

Best thing to do....Upgrade.

Overheating of razor phone

the v3 is known for battery issues. not charging, not holding charge and overheating. my suggesting is get a different model phone. and stay away from razors. they all have battery issues, I know this from multiple customer razor issues. all battery issues.

Razor phone srceen goes blank after a few seconds

This is the Early signs of Failure! Just had to Upgrade my RAZR for the same Problem. Your Options are (1) Have it Repaired-Costs a LOT! (2) Upgrade to a New or Refurbed Razr. There are no other Solutions

Razor freezes

Hate to say it, but your phone is on the way to its death. I've had two RAZRs die on me, and both showed similar symptoms before they went down. It's a combination of the ribbon wire that connects the screen to the keypad half of the phone (causing the power problems) and the open/close sensor on the phone not realizing you've shut the phone (which is why it's keeping the T up on the screen). If you have warranty coverage on it, move all your contacts to your SIM card, send any pics you want to keep to your email address with mms messages, and then go show them the problems. They should give you a new phone.

"Bolt" replacement on Razor Phone

Be very carefull with the phone. The main cable runs through that left side.

Look on Ebay for a Left hinge pin for the V3. Also knows as the left knuckle.

Make sure you look for the V3. Not Razr.

If your speaker goes out, or you lose display before you get the Knuckle, you need to get a keypad flex also.

If not, get the Knuckle, and it just slides in. MAKE SURE before you pop it in that there are no pieces of the old one in there and that you don't pinch that cable.

I can fix it for you if you send it to our business, but if you're careful, you shouldn't have a problem.

Help my screen doe not turn on!

Common failure of RAZR phones. It's not necessarily water damage. I have had two of them die on me that way - there's a very thin ribbon cable that connects the screen to the keypad and brain. Over time, flipping the phone open and closed damages that, and when it breaks, you lose your display. Unless you can micro-solder, you need a new phone.

Camera Problems

try to open the top flip there are four screw covers around your display then take them out whit a little pin then take the screws out whit the t5 screw driver after that hold the caller id down whit your left hand and pull up the top flip whit ur rigth hand or u can use a thiny plastic around the top flip to take it out after u take it out u will see two flex cables on the top one is the end of the camera and the other is the end of the flex cable. pull the flex cable up and desconect it clean the flex cable connector whit alcohol or just blow it then put it back a little hard till u heard the click then try to clean the camera connector there is a little brown plastic on the top of the camera connector pull it up and open it like a door after u clean it put it back and close it then put the side keys back if they were moved then the top flip, screws, and screw covers. if the problem still u have to buy the lcd display but the lcd is too expensive it would be better to buy another v3
