Drum won't turn

You probably have a big problem. I found this problem a lot with front loaders when I worked for Sears as a repairman. The sales people always tell you that you can wash like 15 pairs of jeans in these or 20 towels or what ever. That couldn't be further from the truth though. If your drum is not turning and it is hard to turn by hand most likely the bearings in the drum are shot from the loads that have been washed. If you turn it and it is hard or makes a grinding sound then the bearings are the problem and you will need a new bearing kit. When you open the back you can see that there is a 3 armed adapter that holds the drum in place. This is the bearing kit. If your loads have been heavy then the bearings will start working over time and start to wear out faster. A lot of people will say that they didn't think that they were doing that heavy of loads but you have to think of it this way. With a front load washer all the weight is weighing directly on the bearing and it is a lot when filled with water. What you may not think is a large and heavy load may be one. That is really the only thing that I can think that the problem is. I hope that it isn't because it is a pain to change out. If you have any other questions let me know. I love to help and that's what I am here for. Good luck.

Hotpoint Aquarius WF 430

Best way to check if the main drum bearings have gone is to;
  1. Remove back panel of washer
  2. Remove drive belt.
  3. Spin drum by hand from the inside of the drum, if it feels rough, or is noisy and rumbling, then the main bearings have gone.
If there is no apparent noise, then you will have to investigate further.
If I can help further, pleas let me know.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Aquarius WF 320 Noisy Drum

Could be your bearings for sure. And if you have been using the machine while the racket continued......you could be ruining you axle as well. So make sure your axle is fine before you change your bearings.......
