- Very sorry to hear that
wazione,
Yep the Motor Controller is on the right hand front of the washer base. The SM will take ya thru the front panel removal.
If the washer wash cycle works meaning the motor turns CW driving the tumblers to rotate it may be an issue with the Motor Controller as you state it’s the closet component to the floor.
My understanding is the Motor Controller takes single phase 120VAC and converts it to 3 phase 120VAC to control motor speed and direction.
It’s controlled by the PWM signal, Torque input at JP4 on the Motor Control Board from the Control Board.
In spin cycle the PWM signal from the Control Baord signals the Motor Controller to reverse the direction of the motor to turn in the CCW direction.
The roller clutches lock up and rotate the Spinner Support CCW spinning the tranny CCW and the Wash basket CCW.
I don’t know of any sure fire way to fault isolate without having known good parts to swap out the Motor Controller, Control Board and Motor.
Ya could remove the Motor Control Board and check for corrosion/conduction paths on the traces and the edge card connections and plugs.
I would invest in a small can of acetone and acid brush if a cleanup looks called for.
I’ll attach some links I fine handy, you may already have.
It sounds like you pulled the Troubleshooting guide out of the Console.
The first two digits of your S/N are the series of your machine mine are 16.
So for items like the pressure switch I would us series 15 part.
The Motor Controller is the same for all series.
Good luck with your trouble shooting… Rich aka dh1200s
