If you cannot start the laptop, you cannot flash the BIOS. You can ship the unit to me, and I'll recover the BIOS. You can email me at [email protected]

Just find the right .BIN file and plug your PC into some type of power source that is guaranteed not to fail, such as a battery backup device.

Be sure the BIN file is on a bootable disc.

You can then update the BIOS.

Well, there is another way, but it is a royal PITA.

Find the BIN file that you were flashing to.
Find good friend at local electronics college.
Dissassemble laptop so that you can get at / put fngers on all sides of the BIOS chip itself.
Load BIN file into programmer, clip programmer leads over the bios ic, and shoot the new firmware directly into the ic. This may work, may not work. Either way, you have nothing to lose, other than a paperweight.

The sreen of my DELL XPS M1330 suddenly does not lght up!

It can be either the display is dead or it is a loose connection. If you are still covered by warranty then I would suggest you to contact the dell technical support. They will replace the part for you.
However if you don't have a warranty then you can buy this part from dell online store (the display) and you can fix it on your own - http://ahwee.com/how-to-disassemble-laptop-dell-xps-m1330 follow the instructions here to dismantle your laptop and refix it with the new parts. If you find any troubles doing so; please let me know; I will help you further.

How to cmos clear of dell model m1330

There are two ways you can restore the CMOS/BIOS back to the factory default.
First, turn off the laptop and remove the BIOS battery for 15 mins.
Insert the BIOS battery back again and go into the BIOS configuration to set the Date and Time etc.
Second, go into the BIOS configuration press the f1 or F2 or F10 key (not sure which key for your model DELL). When you get into the BIOS then there is a setting to restore the BIOS to the default, then save setting and exit.

DELL XPS M1330 battery is not detected.

Boot to the BIOS and see if the battery status shows normally there. If it does, try uninstalling and reinstalling the quickset utility.

If the battery status doesn't show normally in BIOS then you will likely need to replace the battery.

My dell m1330 laptop says that no batterey can be detected when a batterey i attached at the back of the laptop . anyone know a solution??

You either have a bad battery or the connector on the motherboard is bad. Have you tried another battery? Try doing a power drain.

Remove the battery and the AC connector, hold down the power button for 10 sec. Plug the AC connector back in and boot up your machine. Once it's fully booted then shut it down and plug the battery back in and try that out.

Dell XPS M1330 PC - battery not detected

The error code 0146 and the battery are two separate problems. First the battery problem is simple, it's bad and needs replaced. It being bad can refer to a developed short, a fail safe kicked in, or it's simply worn out. It is a battery after all, ad they don't last forever, the more you use them the quicker they wear out. A bad battery causing an issue is vary common with Dell machines, and a false battery reading with a failing battery is also common. The orange flashing battery light is the indicator that the battery isn't working properly, either by fail safe or wear.

The error code 0146 Is from the short test on the hard drive and indicates the a sector is going bad, and eventually the hard drive is going to fail. At this point, your hard drive may last days, or months. Either way, I suggest that you back up all important data, and purchase a new hard drive for the imminent failure. You might even go ahead and set it up, this way you'll be prepared when it does go, and you won't have any downtime.
