My laptop will not power on and has only the plug light icon flashing. I keep it plugged up so I am thinking that either the battery is dead or the ac/dc adapter is no longer working. How can I determine what is the problem and correct it please? Thanks

Thank you DARKLORD1 for your quick and detailed response. I am very impressed with this site!
Yeah i had a customer with that same problem firsti check the power adapter but it turns out it was good, then i looked at the battery but that was good as well..
It turns out the power coils on the mainboard was bad, since this doesnt have a replacable power controll circut he had to change the board.
HERE IS WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
Take you laptop to a store and tell them you want to purchase an adapter but you will likw to be sure its working. Jack it in and see if it works. If not tell them you want a battery and try it the same way. If it works thats fine if not, Tell them you want a replacement main board.
