If the lines you are getting are white then you have clogged print nozzles. Typically the nozzles clog when old ink plugs up some of the nozzles on the print head. These nozzles can't spray ink onto the page and you end up with white lines. You would need to replace the print head but I would recommend you clean off your cap and wiper assembly first. If you don't and there is a bunch of old ink built up, you run the risk of clogging up the new print head and having the same problem.
Take it back, and get one that does work correctly.
> VERTICAL lines ACROSS the whole photo
Hold the paper in "portrait" mode, not "landscape" mode.
Are the lines HORIZONTALLY-ACROSS the paper,
or VERTICALLY-DOWN the paper?
If those lines are WHITE and HORIZONTAL,
then some of the many ink-jets inside the print-head are *CLOGGED*.
Run a "print-head-cleaning-cycle" to try to unclog it.
Or, exercise the WARRANTY, and get it replaced.
Hi there the likely thing is that there is a small blockage in the print heads not allowing the jet to fire and causing a blank line. You could remove the print head turn it upside down using a soft cloth clean the print head also use a alcohol based fluid to aid you.
Try this if it's doesn't work then the print head will need replacing you will be able to buy online.
Hi. I've been looking for a solution to this very same problem, but I think that the only way to fix it is to replace the print head. I've spent a few hours now trying to find out if there is something else which could cause this problem, and the only one that applies to me (and to you, if you replaced all of your ink cartridges), is that the print head is no longer working. I found a print head for $50 at http://www.precisionroller.com/k_canon_i560_print_head/m114d5908c104/
, so I'll probably go that route.
