My error, you can go higher than a 4 gig SDHC card now, you can get 8 gig cards for version 2 players and I just read that a 12 gig card should be out by summer.

What maximum capacity Memory card of SANDISK is suitable for Coolpix 5600 ?

I've search and found that there's no limitation in SD card usage, it only said we prefer more than 256 MB card. But there is user who use 4 GB SD card, so I think it would be fine for you to use it. Higher memory card usually will make the camera harder to read the data, so I can't guarantee if you use higher memory than that.

Hope this help and RATE please !

Is it a SDHC card? SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

You could try formatting the card. There is a function in the camera menus to do this. If it won't format then it may simply be too high capacity. It is often difficult to find out the maximum capacity a camera will use, as today's memory cards are much larger that those available when the manuals for even recent cameras were written.

Is a SDHC Memory Card 4GB compatible with my Canon Powershot SD600 camera?

Your camera will accept a maximum SD card capacity of 2GB. It simply isn't capable of handling anything of a larger capacity and in particular is incompatible with the more technically advanced SDHC cards.

Your fix is to either replace your camera with a later model or to stick to using SD cards with a maximum 2GB capacity.

I just purchased a sandisk sdhc card 8gb memory card.how do i my camera says it is the wrong format.press ok and it will format it....i pressed the ok button and it says unable to format.can you help.

The problem is that you're using an incompatible memory card.

Your camera is designed to use SD memory cards up to a maximum 2GB capacity. Click on this link for the user manual and look at the specification on page 43 under the heading "storage".

You're trying to use an 8GB SDHC: not only is the capacity far too large for your camera to handle, but it's a later technical standard which your camera does not have the hardware for. SD and SDHC cards may look the same, but are very different "under the skin". SDHC compliant devices are backwards compatible with earlier SD cards, but SD devices like your camera cannot be updated to use SDHC cards.

Your only fix is to replace the SDHC card with an SD card of no greater than 2GB capacity.

Micro SD Capacity

The e260 will not recognize any microSDHC cards. It will only use microSD cards, which are limited to a maximum of 2GB in size.

Micro SDHC use

Yes you can use them. Version 2 players support all size SDHC cards. However version 1 players can only accept 2 gig regular micro SD cards, which can also be used in version 2 players.
HC means High Capacity.
