I'm afraid most mp3 players warn against keeping the player connected during shutdown and bootup. Your player seems to be in the same state. You could try resetting it (only if you know how to - this could be dangerous) - but don't worry, no data would be erased if you do it right. Otherwise you can take it to a service center and see if they have any suggestions, maybe like formatting.
