IBM ThinkPad T30 2366 PC Notebook

IBM Thinkpad T30 2367 beeps 8 times

I have an IBM Thinkpan T30 2367 when boots up it beeps 1 time, then 3 beeps, 3 more beeps, then finally 1 beep & the screen is black. I think there is a problem with the monitor or video card. What do you think?

Hi,
It's your memory, or more to the point, the memory slots. take all memory out, install 1 piece in the slot closest to the back of the laptop, push down on the memory as if pushing it into the motherboard, and hold pressure while booting.
Bet that works. if not, let me know.
I've got the same machine.

There was an actual piece of lint on the memory tab.
