Device keeps prompting - "update database" how do I do that?

2) Sync to renew subscription. When I connect to sync it doesn't work. same msg. shows on the sandisk.

It sounds like you have a music subscription with some music company...download a new song and transfer it to your device...that should solve the problems..if that doenst do it..format your device and tried to transfer song again..

STEP 1 - Connect the Sansa player to the computer

STEP 2 - Run Windows Media Player
1. Go to Start > Programs > Windows Media Player.

NOTE: If you can not see Windows Media Player on the menu, go to Start > Run then type WMPLAYER then OK.

STEP 3 - Sync files to the Sansa player.
Windows Media Player 10:
1. Click the Library tab.

3. After creating the list, click the Start sync button to sync and transfer music files to your device.

Synchronize songs to Sansa c250


newtech -change the USB mode on the player away from where it is now. Turn on then press and hold the rewind button while plugging to the PC.

darama - you have to plug the mp3 player into the computer and refresh it through Bearshare. If you let your subscription lapse, you won't be able to use the songs naymore.

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

Mp3 Player - sansa sandisk 2 GB


Unfortunately you are not going to be able to go online to sync your device...All music subscription such as napster and rhapsody require you to sync your device every single month using their actual software..The reason is to prevent customer from cancelling their music subscription..once you cancel your membership all the songs you have on your device will become useless.In another word, you are renting the music from the subscription company...

you must sync your CDs into mp3 before you can sync it into the mp3 player. CD format is not in mp3.

The certificate must be obtained by syncing the device to the music service from which you obtained the songs.
