System crash--won't boot up

HP Pavilion 750n--
I always leave my computer turned on. This morning the monitor was showing the "HP Invent" logo on a blue background, and the computer was locked up. I had to unplug it to turn it off. When I turned it back on, all it did was make an intermittent beeping sound (like an alarm) with nothing showing on the monitor. I tried this 3 times and got the same result each time. Is there any way to bring it back to life? If not, can I retrieve any of my files from the computer. Thanks.

Thanks, but the beeps are not 4 series of beeps; they are an alternating of single long beeps and pauses--one long beep, pause, one long beep, pause, one long beep, pause, . . ., and this continues without stopping until I turn the computer off. When I first turn on the computer, the beeping starts immediately, and the lights on the CD drive and the DVD drive flicker like it's trying to search for the operating system. (Of course I don't have any disc with the operating system to try to load from the CD drive.) Then after a bit everything stops (the internal fan is still running) except for the single long beeps until I shut if off.

The intermittent beeping is the error code. It is important that you notice how many beeps your computer makes.
Then, you can go to the following link (from HP) http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07107&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=71010&lang=en
and check what is wrong with your computer.

Anyway, you can always recover the information on your computer, but will have to take the hard disk out of the computer and plug it onto another as a secondary hard disk.

Monitor won't go on

What to you mean by Monitor won't go on? Are you saying the power on the monitor will not turn on? Are you saying the Monitor is on, but there is nothing showing on the screen? Also it would help if we know what kind of computer and what operating system.

My Hp Pavillion laptop dv2214tu doesnot boot beyond the HP INVENT logo page. I tried performing the Primary Hard Disk check as stated on the HP Support site but its not happening.I also reseated the RAM...

Unscrew your Laptop HardDrive bay and remove your harddisk first, then try to boot your system wthout the Harddisk inside. If it Boots past the HP Invent Logo Page, then your harddisk is the one that is faulty, if still doesnt, get another good, working RAM, apart from the one in your system, and use it to test your laptop...making sure that the harddisk is still not inside...then if it boots insert your Harddisk back with the new RAM, and restart your system.
If in the first case it boots (i.e wihout the harddisk inside)...then it means your harddrive is faulty, just retrieve your file on it and get a new one.
If in the second case it works (i.e with a new external RAM) then just change your RAM instead.

Heat Sink/Processor Fan

This doesn't neccesarily indicate a problem. Just to be sure, Check your systems temperatures in your notebooks BIOS.

Press F10 when the HP Invent logo shows up when you boot it.

Do not forget that a notebook generates a lot of heat. Since all internal components are literally packed. A notebook is fully filled with parts.

At what point does the fan return to normal? And at what point does it speed up?

Greetings,
