How do i set up my hp desktop f340 printer

Hi, starting from very beginning, first get the printer up and plug in the power for the printer it should boot itself up and get itself ready. Next boot up the computer but do not connect the computer and printer together, put in the printer disc once you get into windows and wait for its own window to come up, then click on the setup or install and follow directions until you are done, somewhere in the middle of the installation it will ask you to connect the usb or parallel cable to the computer from the printer.
