Red light keeps flashing,Check Print Cartridge

red light keeps flashing,Check Print Cartridge Could this be because i have only installed the black & white cartrige and don't have a coloured one in. Do both catridges have to be installed? If this could be the problem then i will purchase one.

yes all HP printers need to have both ink cartridges installed in order for the printer to function
