I don't believe the space bar issue has to do with your environment. I had the same issue 1 week ago when it first came out of the box. At first I thought it was my typing style and I just had to get used to the keyboard. But I did some experiments and figured out the space bar doesn't work well when pressed in the lower corners. I will be exchanging mine today.

Here is some information about the issue...HP is aware of it.....

    Hello,
I have a HP Pavilion Notebook DV2601TX laptop which I bought in feb 2007. When I am starting this machine, it is making big sound and not booting up properly. I need to press escape button and then need to select booting option "Start Windows nornally".
There is one more problem with Space key. While typing something, the space key sometimes automatically presses and the cursor moves forward. I need to use backspace key for keeping cursor on the desired location.
The problem is appearing from the last 8-9 months. I am fed up with this situation.
Please suggest some concerete solution for this.

I am back with a solution....It is sort of a MacGyver rig but it works!

Take off the space bar and place a shim between it and the sensor (nubby).

I got information on how to safely take off my space bar from laptoprepair101.com.

I used a stack of 6 post-it notes as a shim. I cut a 1/4 inch square out of the sticky portion and stuck it to the back of the space bar. I popped the space bar back on and it worked like a charm.

My space bar does the same thing. my touch pad is also supersensitive. The touch pad I have disabled but the space bar issue makes me want to smash stuff.

Heyo, the fan needs to be cleaned. Your environment air may be the culprit...if that is the case, I am sure the space bar is doing that for the same reason. If you can afford to take it to the shop to have the shell taken off and cleaned properly, I would do it.

Why is there a clunking noise only when turning hard left, e.g., when parking or making a U-turn?

sounds like your cv joint needs replacing on that single side if you are hearing a grinding# How are your anti roll bar bushes and drop links? It may be a combination of things rather than just the one. Clunking and grinding do not necessarily go together but might be a symptom of a single issue.
Maybe Fixya should set up a sound file facility so that we can listen to such sounds too!!

Sounds like there is something in the filter trap that is right before the mini disposal that is a fan blade, on top of the motor.

HLP4663wx/xaa Fan or Color wheel making noise? I first noticed it within the last week making noise when turning the set off. Now it's continuous. Could hear it slowing down on power off, constant...

A fan like noise is 98% of the time the color wheel.

Wheel turns at over 12,000 rpm and common failure is "fan like sound or even grinding sound".

When these sets first came out if the high pitched sound started women who have better hearing in that range usually hear it first.

If wheel really fails it will shatter and set will not come on----a grinding sound may be noticed just before total failure.

Grinding noise when fan spins fast

Try cleaning out the fans before going to the bother of replacing it. There maybe some debris stuck in it causing the strange noise. A can of compressed air often removes most of the dust and debris but on occassion it is necessary to open the case and manually clean the fan.

Generally if its grinding and clicking noises it will be the hard drive the fans will cause more a whirr than a grind

Cricut makes loud grinding noise and will not turn roller bar

My wifes' cricut seems to have had the same problem. Try turning off the power, then manually slide the cutting carriage to the left look inside to the right. you should see a red button pull on it until it clicks. power up the cricut and see it it works. it solved the problem for my wife.

Dvd10 optoma projector makes a loud noise

Hi, I'm not sure if it's the same problem I had..
I had it on picture mute, for maybe 15 mins, which may not have been a good idea. While it was muted, it made a sparking sound, and then a very loud grinding noise. When turned off, the lound noise stops, and the fan continues as usual for about a minute. As soon as it's turned back on, the grinding noise is back. But the logo seemed to display ok.

I took it in for repairs, and they said they needed to replace the color wheel to fix the problem.

Samsung DLP HLR5668W has mostly dark picture + grinding noise

Pix looks like a light pipe issue, inside the Light Engine. as far as the shutting down, could be a bad fan causing the grinding and when stopps the DMD turns the set off.
