Teac diskette drive pinout for Technics kn1000

There was an interface included, inside the KN 1000 unit floppy disk drive. This interface change "the 34 pin out from the floppy disk)" to "the 24 pin out" that could be connect to the the KN 1000 "24 pin in" conector jack in the KN 1000 main board.

As we know, the common disk drive unit in the market have 34 pin out only. wa can't connect directly 34 pin out floppy disk drive to the 24 pin in jack connector inside the KN 100o main board.

We need such an interface. This is the problem coz no one sell this interface separately in the market.

If u have one KN 1000 floppy disk drive unit (SY-FD), u can pick out that interface from inside the unit, and use it as a gate/interface from your new floppy disk drive to the "24 pin in" connector inside KN 1000 main board.

U can search this 24 pin out diagram interface in the net, but the problem is no one sell it separately.

I am installing an EPSON SD_600 5.25 inch flopy drive into a gateway computer. Which if any jumpers do I need to change into order to have this drive share a data ribbon cable with the existing 3.5 inch...

Unless floppy drive cables have changed in the past few years, they're designed for 2 floppy drives, with the jumpers on both set the same way. There's a small twist in the cable that changes the drive addresses instead.

Or you could just replace the existing drive with the new one.

Teac external floppy disc drive will not format floppy disc

U need an interface, if u want to use the "34 pin out" from floppy disk unit, to the "24 pin in" connector jack, inside KN 1000 main board.
U can get this interface unit bboard from "the KN 1000 floppy disk drive unit".
Just open this unit SY-FD20, and pick out that interface board from this unit,
Then use it as interface to connect your new 34 pin out floppy disk drive to connecting to the 24 pin in connector jack inside the KN 1000 mainboard.

My computer does not identify, not driver a. My computer is an XP. Actually I purchased two external floppies., neither had instruction and I am NOT into the works of the computer. My friend can use them...

You may have a faulty power supply cord... if the light isn't turning on, there's definitely no power going to the drive. Try a different cord. if that doesn't work, there may be something wrong with the drive itself.
Try that first. Once you have power, and it still doesn't work, you may need to try a different ribbon as well.

Also try reversing the connector on the floppy drive, even if you think it's plugged in the right way. Check the power connector and make sure you haven't 'missed' a pin when you plugged it in. It can be difficult to get the power connector lined up correctly with the pins if you attach it when the drive is screwed into place in the case.
Check that the floppy drive is enabled in BIOS Setup, and configured correctly.
Basically, ensure that BIOS POST identifies it correctly at boot up, then check that 'Device Manager' in Windows identifies it correctly. 'My Computer' about the last thing to check!

Which pin is pin1 on Sony MPF 920-Z floppy drive?

As your looking at the pins with the drive right side up, it is the bottom pin farthest to the left.

Ican't get a self installed floppy disk drive to work with Vista.

Reverse the data ribbon direction in floppy side (data cables pink color side should be plugged opposite to power cables color side)

This drive supports Ready signal or Disk Change signal on pin 34 (RY34 or DC34), has a large number of jumpers for various settings, thus (unlike the standard 235HF drive which works in PCs only) this drive can used to replace a 720k drive on older computers such as Amstrad CPC/PCW or Commodore AMIGA.

1.2 MB? is this a 5 1/4" drive you are talking about?

You need an older floppy IDE ribbon. No drivers needed for that.

Epson smd349 floppy

Hi Elia, Could be a couple of things: -Your drive may only be a 720K drive. They will format 1.44 MB disks but only with a 720K format. The test is inserting a HD disk and try formatting it as HD. -The disk could be mislabeled, HD disks have two holes on end opposite the slide, one to write protect the disk and the other to signal to 720/1.44 capable drives this is a HD disk. -The HD disk could be formatted as a 720K disk even though it is an HD disk, reformat as HD. -The new, used drive could be damaged. -The drive could be configured as a 720K by the computers BIOS. You?ll have to enter the BIOS setup find the config for the A drive and set to 1.44MB. Let us know what happens and please don?t forget to rate the posting.
