This is a very common problem with many of the mid 90 - 2000 era import vehicles. The clock modules are very prone to internal failure. I offer a reasonable repair service with a lifetime guarantee, check it out: www.autoclockrepair.com
There is a bunch of useful info there. Drop me an email if you have questions, thanks!

Check the fuse panel first. Has anyone been under the dash recently, sounds like a harness plug is not quite home.

Quartz clock, Cig. lighter and power side mirrors stopped working

Raincity here, I discovered I was checking the wrong fuse. Got it working, fuse blown. The fuse is under the dash behind the little pocked to the left of the steering wheel. Good luck.

1991 Toyota Camry Temp gauge inoperative

Switch ig. on, ground the sender unit wire for about 3 seconds see if the temp. gauge moves, if so change sender unit, if not then it is a faulty gauge reader.
