Question about Proview PL926WBi 19" LCD Monitor
Monitor turns on then there are alot of lines vertically. The screen then blanks and comes up with a no signal message.
Its out of waranty, so I took it apart.
There is a ribbon cable from the back of the screen to the pcb.
When you wiggle the ribbon and lay the monitor on it back, the thing works fine......
Is it the ribbon, the connector or dry joint on the pcb?
You are on the right track. Sometimes the ribbon cables will look fine but the wire inside the insulation is broken and will result in intermittant problems. Definately check the cable first and repair or replace. It is best to meter the cable while not connected to avoid false readings through other components. Should be a relatively easy repair.
