Can you provide the exact Make, Model and Kenmore model number? Kenmore model numbers use the format ###.######## with the first three digits of 110 for Whirlpool manufactured machines.

Remove the agitator by unscrewing the top and pulling straight up (be careful to not hit yourself in the face if it lets go suddenly). Check the plastic block on top of the shaft for splitting or shearing of the splines inside the block. Go to: SearsPartsDirect.com for break-out drawings of sub-assemblies and replaceable parts.
