i recently just bought an advent brand keyboard (RF Keyboard 1.0) its silver and im trying to uninstall it but it says unInstallShield has detected that C:Program FilesSlim Multimedia KeyboardMagicKey.exe is still in use. Please close this application using this file and launch unInstallShield again. But i dnt no how to close the application...i tryed deleting it but it said Cannot delete MagicKey: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.
hit and hold these keys in order CTRL-ALT-Delete. Chose the Task Manager in the new window that pops open. There are four tabs - Applications, Processes, Performance, Networking. Make sure process is chosen. Click on where it says "Image Name" so everything is in alphabetical order. Seach for a process that aludes to your keyboard (magickeyboard.exe or such). Right click then "End Process". Now uninstall.
Unfortuneately I don't know the name of the specific process it is runningso take your best guess.
Don't fret if you think you messed up anything, when you reboot, everything comes back!!
Other ways to try things including the Windows boot file, this is just the easiest and usually works...

- try to uninstall the keyboard driver and restart your system
- hope this works
You have to remove the keyboard, under the keyboard to the left is a heat shield (silver metal cover), remove it. Your ram is located there. Just take your time and remember where the screws go.
I've actually just bought a new keyboard and mouse (Today!) because I could not get my advent ade-ad2 to work at all on vista, (Previously had it on my xp).
Thought I'd give it one last try as PC world were no help this morning and previous internet searches were no help either.
Soooo. after the usual on/off...push in little button on underside etc.etc...the only thing that I did different was press the "wake" button on the keyboard.
i tried to install the same keyboard and im having the exactly the same problem. i had a saitek eclipse before and it worked perfect. but now nither works and i uninstalled my mouse on accident as well so now im totally screwed
