The featherlite is notorious for the intake seals to leak, Thats the one behind the little plastic manifild. This machine vibrates terribly and usually shakes itself to death. JUst test by shaking the carb while its attached to the engine, any movement shows there is a leak. The engines are like people they allways look for the easyiest way, therefore if there is a place to get air, it will pull it from there, causing it to run lean
