42 in. Phillips, model #43pp920217

Hello,

I have a TV that has a red stripe through the bottom and the middle of the screen. I am thinking it is the convergence does anyone know if they are STK chips in this TV. I have not opened the back yet.

manual convergence from the menu will not move the green crosses, red won't move far enough to correct either.

I am having the same problems with the red stripes on my tv with no luck on the multipoint convergence.I"m not real good at the fix it myself stuff and i was just wondering about a rough figure between doing it myself and trying to haul it in to a repair shop to have it fixed? If i have to do it myself where is the best place to get all the replacement parts?

I believe I have the same issue with my Philips 43PP9202 model (red stripe through top and bottom of screen). I just ordered (2) STK392-180 IC's, however, I have read many entries on this site that other resistors could be open on the board. If that is the case, then the IC's will immediately go bad after TV is powered on...obviously. I have probed all resistors on the board, however, I cannot find any that appear to be open. My question is...is it common for the STK chips to go bad without causing any other resistors on the board to be open? I don't want to wait another 3 weeks and waste more money on (2) more STK's.

Mine went out also and they had to replace the SSM (Small Signal Module). the guy told me that these go out after a couple of years with ** warning. The only thing you can do is replace the module.

Yes...Change them both.....use first quality only ...I use the best
and it is an upgrade....STK392-110 sub to STK394-160E = part
# CZ 01341 ( Hitachi made by Sanyo) cost about 30.00 ea.
Be sure to verify your part # before ordering any parts.....
Also,check B+ resistors for damage....located next to IC's......T.

42" Panasonic Plasma - Vertical red stripe 6" from left side

We originally had a red stripe roughly 3" wide running vertically on the ride edge area of our Panasonic 52" Viera plasma tv. It has now been joined by a solid black stripe of the same width running from the top to the bottom. Living in Germany and purchased at local PX long enough ago that the warranty is likely expired. Now what?
