I appreciate but its more than that, scanners can detect it neither can manually enabling it i've tried and it wasn't disabled by me but a virus malware or trojan. Any other solutions?

Task Manager can be disabled by 2 main ways..
[1] Either there is a virus on your machine--
[2]Or It was manually disabled.
--The 1st solution is to get an anti virus which is up to date and run a virus scan to delete the viruses that maybe present.

--The second solution is that on your START MENU, click on "run".
On 'run' type "gpedit.msc"..
Under the "User Configuration" , click on " Administrative Templates"..
Then you double click on "system" .Double click on "Ctrl+Alt+Del Options"... Double Click on " Remove Task Manager" and click on "Disable"... Click on "Apply" and "Ok"
Your Task Manager should now work !!!

Hi Kristen,

It sounds as if SkyDrive is running at startup everytime you log onto your PC. What you can do, if on Windows 7, is click start, then type msconfig, you will then be presented with new window. Click the startup tab and ensure that SkyDrive is not enabled to start when system starts. If using windows 8, you can right click on the task bar, choose task manager, then click the startup tab and check the items there. Please visit my website at fix-my-computer.wix.com/computerservices if you need any additional assistance.

I hope this helps and good luck!

My task manager has been disabled due to virus attack. help me

There is a registry hack to enable or disable Windows NT TaskManager. The same registry hack applies to Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
Name: DisableTaskMgr
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1=Enablethis key, that is DISABLE TaskManager
Value: 0=Disablethis key, that is Don't Disable, Enable TaskManager

As part of the enhanced management available in Windows 2000 and Windows XP, rather than risking a registry change, as an administrator you can enable or disable Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP Pro's TaskManager using Group Policy Editor. This can be applied to the local policy. Note: if you are trying to override your organizations group policy, you can't. As soon as you re-authenticate to the domain, the domain or OU Group Policy will rewrite the registry setting. But if the TaskManager was accidently disabled or you need to control this item for a set of standalone boxes this is for you:
  • Click Start
  • Click Run
  • Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
  • In the Group Policy settings window
    • Select User Configuration
    • Select Administrative Templates
    • Select System
    • Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
    • Select Remove Task Manager
    • Double-click the Remove Task Manager option
And as I mentioned above, since the policy is Remove Task Manager, by disabling the policy, you are enabling the Task Manager.

Unwanted popup window that shutsdown my broweser

second problem first
  • Click Start
  • Click Run
  • Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
  • In the Group Policy settings window
    • Select User Configuration
    • Select Administrative Templates
    • Select System
    • Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
    • Select Remove Task Manager
    • Double-click the Remove Task Manager option
since the policy is Remove Task Manager, by disabling the policy, you are enabling the Task Manager.

For IE what you should do is update to the newest version of Internet Explorer or do what I do and Use Mozilla Firefox.

My task manger is disabled by the administrator

For Windows XP Home Edition use "The registry edit & For Windows XP Professional you still use the option I had suggested which is:

• Click Start
• Click Run
• Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
• In the Group Policy settings window
o Select User Configuration
o Select Administrative Templates
o Select System
o Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
o Select Remove Task Manager
o Double-click the Remove Task Manager option

I hope this Info has helped you.

or:
Click Start -> Run. Type in "regedit" (no quotes) and hit Enter.

Search for HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ System.

Look for: DisableTaskMgr. Click on REG_DWORD. Value: 1=Enable this key (disables TaskManager); Value: 0=Disable (actually enables TaskManager)

Close RegEdit

Reboot your machine.
