When i press the drawer open button, it tries to open but sticks. if i tap the drawer with my knuckle it eventually opens but by the time i've got my disc in hand it shuts again! this means that putting a new game in the drive requires me to move faster than a speeding bullet and i'm afraid i am no superman!

if it doesnt open this is what i do to mine cause i have your problem ok 1st step:lift up the the front of your xbox360 console gently then step 2:drop the front of the xbox360 softly back down not hard or to violent step 3:if that doesnt work keep on hitting the open and close button were you enter the disc but not too fast ohkay well thats all my info hope it works
standing up or laying down? when standing they sometimes stick, lay it down and if it still won't open then press down on the casing just above the eject button. if that doesn't work then the unit will have to be opened, the dvd drive taken apart and completely cleaned.
If you lay your console flat press eject, then give the console a few raps (dont go mad) with your knuckles where the centre of the disk should be the draw will open.

Unfortunately their is no step by step or guaranteed method to fix this. Here are a few things you could try: turning it off and on, press/hold the eject button, resetting while holding the eject button, shaking or tapping it a little while trying to eject it, holding it different ways ex. face disc opening down towards floor while gently tapping and pressing the eject button. Essentially do whatever you can to get the disc to jar loose, >but whatever you do, don't for any reason stick anything in the slot or try to open the case <Doing this will void the warranty for sure! If none of these work your last resort would be to return it for a new one (providing you still have your receipt and it's less than a year old) or take it to a costly repair guy.
