Question about Trendware TEW-452BRP Wireless Router (TEW452BRP)

1 Answer

Laptops do not recieve IP address from the router

I have two laptops (dell, asus) and both of them can connect to router only one time after router rebooting (Wi-Fi), they trying to connect for 3-5 minutes and got "connection successful, but IP address not received. After rebooting connection takes about 10seconds. So everytime you switch off Wi-Fi connection - you need to reboot router to connect second time. Connect -  I mean successful connection + IP recieved.

I think the problem lies within the dhcp of your router. Make sure dhcp is on and change the lease time to 1440 minutes or higher that way once you have the ip address it will stay with your laptop longer. alternatively allocate the ip address on your laptop manually.

good luck

How can i get my ip address on my dell d610

depends on operating system, but an easy way to find your ip is to go to or click this link http://www.whatismyip.com/ this will tell your true ip as others equipment will see it

in any operating system you can go to command prompt. this can be found in programs /accessories /command prompt or by simply typing command prompt at start /search window when the black box comes up type in ipconfig all one word look for ipv4 connection this is your ip address. **note if this is a 192.68 address this in not your true address it is the address used to network your pc and a router or dsl modem for internet connectivity. Simply close the window when finished. Do not keep using command prompt without proper commands

in windows 2007
Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections click on active connection and then click details your ip will be the ipv4 address, but if you are going to a router you will recieve a 192.168 address this is not your true address but the address used to network your pc to router or dsl modem. if you have trouble finding network connections, In window 7 go to start click on 'help and support" type in whats my ip a box with answer will give you link to network connections and better directions.

hope this is helpful .......I usually just use the whats my ip link.....especially as most of us are now dynamic and our ip address changes regularly

Well i have a dell latitude d600 and i can get the wifi connection on my computer but cant connect to the internet whats going on

if u know the IP address of your router and ur servicve provider's server IP then ping it....
go to Start/Run
in the next window type this
ping 198.168.1.1 -t (the number is the IP address of ur router...replace the number written by me with ur router number)
ping 59.179.243.70 -t (the number here is the IP address of internet service provider server...replace the number written by me with one for your internet service provider server IP address)

the ping window will be a DOS window with responce from the respective server/router with milli seconds mentioned as responce time....if that comes then ur connection is ok
for further info check with ur internet provider

I installed my D-Link DIR-615 router today and did my setup in my Window 7 laptop. I don't know whether it matters whether I do setup in a laptop or a desktop. Then, I connect the modem/router to my...

If you have trouble connecting to your modem, you may need to lock the speed down on the WAN port of your router to 10Mbps. Within the web-based configuration utility for the router, go to Tools > Misc and the option to select the WAN speed will be towards the bottom. Not all routers have this option.

Follow the steps configuring the router once again...

Step 1 Log into the web-based configuration by typing in the IP address of the router (default:192.168.0.1) in your web browser. The username is admin (all lowercase) and the password is blank (nothing).

Note: The address 192.168.0.1 is NOT on the Internet. The web-based configuration is built-in to the router.

Step 2 Click the Setup tab and then click the Internet button.

Step 3 Dynamic IP Address is the default value, however, if Dynamic IP Address is not selected as the WAN type, select Dynamic IP Address from the drop down menu. Click Clone Mac Address. Click on Save Settings to save the changes.

Step 4 Click on Status. Under WAN, Click DHCP Renew. If it does not get an IP address or times out, then continue with the next step.

Step 5 Power cycle the cable modem and router using the following steps:

Turn the cable modem off (first)

Turn the router off

Leave them off for 2 minutes**

Turn the cable modem on (first)

Wait until you get a solid cable light on the cable modem

Turn the router on

Wait 30 seconds ..

Step 6 Follow Step 1 again to log back into the web configuration. Click the Status tab and click the Device Info button. If you do not already have a public IP address under the WAN heading, click on the DHCP Renew button.

I have a dell inspiron1300 laptop pc.This problem has just developed. When I turn on it won't connect to the internet(wireless connection) until I click ''repair'' on the small connection icon at the bottom...

This can happen when both the wireless router and the laptop are powered up together. The laptop boots up before the wireless router can issue the laptop with an IP address. When you click Repair the LAN card requests a new IP address from the router and then the laptop can connect to the Internet.

I get this problem sometimes and then I have to click Repair.

Try leaving the wireless router powered up or power up the wireless router first. I suggest rebooting the wireless router approx. once a week, the wireless router will then be issued with a new IP address from your ISP, this makes it difficult for hackers to hack into your wireless router/network.

Not recieving connection on Dell laptop

Hi Billy 3958,

First off you need to go to your network connections, and right click on the wireless connection and view status. Then click on the support tab, and then the details tab. This will show you what the IP configuration is. You need to have a gateway (which is your wireless router IP) and a assigned IP address for the laptop, and also a dns IP to resolve who you are. I'm going to guess that one of them are missing, perhaps the DNS? If there is any missing click on the repair button, and see if it corrects the problem. If not, then you have a bigger problem then you bargined for. You didn't mention the name or model of the router, but if the repair button doesn't do the trick, then you will need to post information on the router, so I can help you get into that to get you connected. Also, post if this router is connecting any one else to the internet, if so, then you can look at their setup and copy that manually into your laptop. If your running XP or Vista, you can click on add a new wireless connection and it will walk you through connecting you to the router.

Good Luck,

And don't forget to post the information if repair doesn't work, and don't forget to leave a rating, based on your experience with my support.

Thanks
Mark

Cant connect to the internet.

Click on Start and type CMD. Open CMD and type ipconfig. Check out the IP address V4 for the Local area ethernet adapter or wireless area adpater depending on wireless or wired connection. Any ip address other than of the class 169.254.x.x shoud be considered good. If you have an IP address is any other number other than the above you have a good IP address. to test the internet connectivity type PING www.google.com. If the results are Packets sent 4 Recieved 4 Lost 0 then the issue could be due to Internet Explorer bing corrupt or a firewall blocking the internet access. Power off the computer. Power on the system and as soon as you see the Dell logo please tap the F8 button 3 - 4 times. You'll get to teh Advanced Windows boot option screen. Select safe mode with networking and see if the internet works in the safe mode. If yes then it could be the firewall. Uninstall you antivirus and check.
