Question about SanDisk Sansa m240 MP3 Player

1 Answer

PC won't recognise player

When I plug in my new Sansa player, the PC won't recognise the hardware at all. I tried changing the battery, trying a different lead etc., but still no go.

Help anyone? Am I doing something wrong, or is the player faulty?

Re: PC won't recognise player

I had the same problem with the m250. Updating the driver made it work.

My PC doesn't recognize MP3 player "sansa e250"

In this case wat u can do is on the Mp3 player itself u will see a slide switch which will say Hold/Unhold or Lock/Unlock............
Just make sure it is not Locked or On Hold and then try to turn it on.........
Good Luck.......
Take Care
And now it should recognise it

Sansa e200

There is one option, not really a fix, just a workaround. Try the player on a different computer computer and see if it is recognnised there. If it is, then use something like a pen drive to transfer music from the PC that doesnt recognise the device to another that does. Now you can transfer music using the WMPlayer sync service.

If your device is not being recognised on many computers, it looks like it is time to chuck it away. You can also try this first though..
1. Remove the player from the PC and switch it off.
2. Restart the computer.
3. Hold the +Volume button and connect to computer.
4. Keep the button pressed for at least 60 secs, and you should see the "Found New Hardware" balloon pop up, indicating that the device has been detected.

If even that fails, then I'm afraid your Sansa player has run its course, and you may need to purchase a new player...:(

Sansa m250 Player -No Screen Display after changing new battery

Get the same brand batteries as the original

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware.

Sansas only work on WinXP or later. Win 2000, ME, 98 and 95 are not supported.
