Question about SanDisk Sansa m240 MP3 Player

1 Answer

PC not recognising hardware

I bought this MP3 player for my other half for xmas, but when we plug it into the PC, it will not recognise the hardware at all. I tried 'install new hardware' but then I get an error message. I even tried changing the battery in the player, to no avail.

Am I doing something wrong? Or do I need to return the player as faulty?

Re: PC not recognising hardware

Sansas only work on WinXP or later. Win 2000, ME, 98 and 95 are not supported.

Well it doesn't seem to be recognised when i plug it into my usb onmy lap top and doesnt seem to be charging

Ive had this too.. All you need to do is unplug it. Then use a pin and press the RESET button on the bottom or side not the microphone on the top. Then plug the USB cable back into your laptop and into your CZ (Creative Zen) On the screen of the Zen it should say Docked. And your laptop should recognise your Zen as new hardware. Hope this helps. ;;

I have a redgroove mp3 player that my pc wont recognise

Sometimes mp3 players have to charge up before they are recognized, try leaving it plugged in for a while also try plugging it in when its in the on position, also try installing the the software that came with the player before plugging it in.

Used ipod wont recognise in itunes

If you are on a PC the most common reason for iTunes not recognising is because of driver corruption. The easiest way to resolve this is to download the very latest version of it from the Apple site and reinstalling it. If that doesnt work, reset the device by holding down Menu and Select until the Apple logo appears then hold down Select and Play together until the display reads 'OK to Disconnect'. Now connect it to your PC. iTunes should now recognise it and you should click the 'restore' button on the ipod main page of iTunes.

All the best

Pc not recognising my mp3 player

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard
