Baumatic rangehood bah9005 the switch pushes in and the lights dont work , motor works when electrical switch at wall is on

Thank you for using FixYa. It sounds like there is obviously power getting to the rangehood ( the motor works) and I would suspect that it is just the bulbs that have blown.

Everything works except it won't heat anything

Check your door safety interlock switches. Remove the cover and look for the tiny (usually) black micro switches. Dont touch the silver can.

If you open your door while the oven is working ... these switches arc which burn the contacts. Eventually, they will not close. When that happens, the oven doesnt know the door is closed and will not turn onthe mangatron.

Find em at Radio shack,Appliance parts place or www.Repairclinic.com

Replace the switches for about $10.00, take your significant other out to dinner with the $100.00 you just saved.

Typical 'microwave doesnt work' but more info to troubleshoot

It could be either RY2 on the main circuit board or the primary (top) interlock door switch.

There should be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

At our site, we have a video showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes. The Advantium series may be a bit more complicated to get into. If so, let me know.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here. Let me know if you don't find yours there.

If a switch is all you need, we offer a universal type for only $5 postpaid which you can order here.

I would suggest looking over the mini-manual and checking the door switch first. If it's not jammed or burned, then it may be the relay or a connection on the board.

We repair such control panel assemblies for $39.95 in most case in about a week and offer a one year guarantee.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your model number) for more information & help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Over the range Goldstar microwave not working????

(If you need more help than this, please reply back with your model number)

It's probably a bad door switch or door switch mount.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside. Its continuity must be checked.

Door switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa:.

If you only need a switch, you can order one from us for $5 postpaid.

If you think the problem is on the control panel, we repair these nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in most cases.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

My microwave doesnt work

Can you see even a colon or dot on the display?

Have you tried it with the door open and closed?

It may be a bad door switch or a door alignment issue, or it may be a problem with the control panel.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

EMERSON MW8773SL

Quite often this is due to a bad door switch. Opening the door while cooking (without first hitting the STOP pad) is the primary cause of door switch failure. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk If it's NOT a bad door switch, it may be a stuck relay or other problem on the control panel / circuit board. We repair these control panels nationwide for $39.95. For details on the repair service, see our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
