The cleaning head module electronics are probably burnt out, this is not terribly uncommon. Your best bet is to contact Salton and purchase a 530 replenishment kit (http://www.salton.com.au/products/146) and replace the entire cleaning head module.

roomba is on, but it won't clean when 1) I press the clean button, or 2) when I schedule it. I did try pulling it away from the docking station and it did go back to the station...without cleaning. Help, MIL is on her way!

The last 2-3 cleaning rounds, the dirt cup was empty at the end of a cleaning session, and this is NOT normal. The filter DID have the usual dust on it. So tonight, I unscrewed several layers, cleaned out debris, and replaced the parts and the brushes. But this time, after turning it on, Roomba made a clicking sound every few seconds. I removed the dirt bin to look at the brush, and it would make 1/8 turn, click, and stop -- then turn again and click and stop turning -- and repeat, repeat. What can I do?
